Lewes put up a good fight this evening but ended up losing the penultimate game of the season to Kettering Town.

The Rooks made a poor start, going behind in the fifth minute when Gareth Seddon slid into connect with Ryan Charles' cross from the right, but they soon gathered themselves and got back into the game but rarely threatened the Kettering goal.

Seddon added a second just past the hour mark when he raced through to score at the far post and the Poppies looked home and dry.

The visitors were their own worst enemies as they wasted a host of chances, and even allowed Lewes back into the game late on when Ryan Storrie was tripped in the area and top scorer Joe Keehan stepped up to score the penalty and add an eighth goal to his season's tally.

Lewes almost nicked an equaliser at the death but Freddie Foreman's shot was gratefully cleared off the line by Chris Beardsley.
