Back to back wins for Lewes

File (Embeded) - Lewes v Weymouth Breach goal

Lewes beat Weymouth at the Dripping Pan on Saturday afternoon to secure their second win in successive matches.

The Rooks certainly rode their luck with the Terras having a series of excellent opportunities to take a half time lead, but with Rikki Banks in superb form in goal, including an 18th minute penalty save from Stephen Reed, the game was level at the break.

Weymouth have been in freefall since the well-publicised events of the spring when the first team players left the club, but manager Alan Lewer would have been rightfully pleased with the way his team had performed at the break.

Watched by Ebbsfleet defender Paul McCarthy, Lewes' next opponents on Easter Monday, the Rooks battled hard and became stronger as the second half progressed, with Chris Breach's header from a seemingly impossible angle, the only goal of the game in the 70th minute.

Weymouth's Marcus Browning was sent off in the closing moments but by then the points had been gratefully claimed by the home side.
