Lewes have added two new faces to the squad set to face Forest Green tomorrow.

Midfielder Luke Rooney and defender Josh Jirbandey have both been signed on work experience by caretaker manager Steve Ibbitson, who is aiming for his side to overhaul Northwich Victoria and not finish the season bottom of the Blue Square Premier.

Rooney is a second year apprentice at Gillingham and has featured in their reserve team this season, as well as being the leading scorer in the youth side.

Ibbitson said: “We have seen Luke play on a number of occasions. He is a very good player and a good addition to our squad.”

Jirbandey, who made his debut for County League Rye United as a 15 year old, joins from Peterborough United, having been on loan for a spell at Hastings United this season.

Striker Rhys Henry has returned to Southend following the end of his loan spell during which he scored one goal in the away fixture at Rushden & Diamonds earlier in the month, although Steve Elliott has had his loan extended for another month with Hastings United.

As well as Henry, Lewes have lost the services of Guy Butters and Shaun Wilkinson who have both been recalled from their loans by Blue Square South club Havant & Waterlooville, whilst Chamal Fenelon has left the club due to work commitments and has joined County League Two side Seaford Town.
