The Blue Square Premier's lowest gate of the season saw Lewes fall to their 12th consecutive league defeat against second placed Histon this afternoon.

Just 345 people turned up to see the Rooks in action, but the home side struggled to make an impact from the off and Histon took the lead in the 26th minute when Josh Simpson blasted Danny Cullip's mis-hit clearance past keeper Rickki Banks.

Jamie Barker doubled the lead eight minutes into the second half and despite Lewes looking livelier with the introduction of on-loan striker Rhys Henry, Barker scored his second in the 71st minute to wrap up another sorry afternoon for the Rooks.

Lewes passed an enviable landmark with the third goal, which took their goal difference record to minus 50, double that of Northwich Victoria who sit in the place above.

There may be better news for Lewes this week though, when the long-awaited news about the club's financial situation is expected to be announced.
