Manager Kevin Keehan apologised to Lewes fans after a nightmare first half showing against Crawley.

The Rooks made an awful start, falling behind after 2 minutes through John Shaw and then conceding a second only two minutes later when Sam Rents converted a penalty.

Simon Weatherstone added a third in the 38th minute and Shaw scored his second monents before the interval to put the game out of Lewes' reach with the second half still to come.

Joe Keehan scored Lewes' second goal of 2009 in the 52nd minute but a miracle fightback was prevented when Adam Quinn scored Crawley's fifth goal, five minutes from time.

After the match, Keehan said "We had such a poor start, I was embarrassed about our first half performance. I'd like to apologise to all the Lewes fans because they don't deserve that."
