Horsham humiliate Lewes in the Senior Cup
04/2/09
Lewes waved goodbye to any chance of silverware this season with a humiliating Senior Cup quarter final defeat against Horsham.
This result means that Lewes have now exited all cup competitions this season to lower league sides.
The Rooks were slow to get organised and within ten minutes found themselves two goals behind after strikes from Alex Haddow and Gary Charman.
Josh Klein-Davies fired back before the break as Lewes seemed to gain a foothold in the game.
The visitors were more involved after half time earning a 68th minute penalty when Klein-Davies was fouled, but Horsham keeper Rob Tolfrey saved both the striker's kick and his follow-up.
Horsham took advantage of this and went further ahead shortly after when Claude Seanla fired home at the far post.
After the match Kevin Keehan said "We should have beaten them. Individual mistakes have cost us again and we need to see what we can do about it. Maybe there's a lack of desire and passion with some players? It's so frustrating."
