File (Embeded) - Lewes v Cambridge Cullip pen foul

Another controversial refereeing decision ended yet another brave performance from Lewes this afternoon at the Dripping Pan, against promotion-chasing Cambridge United.

The Rooks were good value for an unexpected, yet deserved 0-0 draw as the game entered the last ten minutes, but referee Mike Bull awarded the visitors a very soft penalty after Paul Carden's dive over Danny Cullip on the edge of the area, which Scott Rendall converted.

Lewes' hard work and effort throughout the match had come undone and Cambridge were able to pick them off again when sub Robbie Wilmott scored their second goal three minutes from time.

Lewes boss Kevin Keehan was unhappy at the end of the match, commenting about the penalty, "it was disgraceful. It wouldn't have been more blatant if he had been diving in water."
