Lewes are still chasing their first points of 2009 after suffering a demoralising 3-0 defeat at York City this afternoon.

After a first half devoid of both goals and entertainment, Richard Brodie's superb shot from 20 yards gave Rooks keeper RIkki Banks little chance as the Minstermen opened the scoring to the relief of the home supporters who had endured a frustrating first 45 minutes.

Christian Smith followed up with his own sensational strike just after the hour, and with Lewes virtual spectators, Brodie scored his second from a deflected shot and only a post denied him a hat trick in the dying moments.

The Rooks have now lost their last 5 Blue Square Premier matches and have failed to score since their win over Salisbury six weeks ago.
