The club are disappointed at the untrue comments and personal attacks that have been posted on the independent forum, concerning the bar and catering facilities.

It has been drawn to the clubs attention that there have been some false statements posted.

Accusations that the club bar was closed after the game on Saturday are unfounded, when in fact a number of Mansfield Town supporters and some club directors stayed to watch the televised game till 9.30 pm. The bar was open before the game and full of Mansfield Town supporters who truly enjoyed a pre match drink.

A statement also requests the return of last season’s caterers when in fact the present caterers have been at the cub for the last 3 years. The range of food on offer is far more extensive than other clubs offer in our league. Visiting teams have also complimented the club on the hospitality shown after the games. All supplies are limited so as to stop unnecessary wastage in these difficult financial times.

It is sad that comments made on the forum are totally unfounded and untrue, in a time when everyone should be pulling together in these difficult times. One way to truly support your club would be for more people to use the bar facilities before the games on match days, rather than arriving just before kick off.

The club has on a number of occasions this season appealed for more volunteers to get involved to help in all areas at the club, but as yet no one has come forward with offers of help, but some choose the easy option to continually criticise the club anonymously from a far.
