Lewes failed to overcome a spirited Havant & Waterlooville side this evening in their FA Trophy replay at Westleigh Park.

Havant took the lead after only six minutes through Matt Gray, but this was cancelled out by Keiron St-Aimie who shrugged off Ian Simpemba's strong challenge on his way to scoring his first goal for Lewes.

The Hawks stepped it up and went into half time two goals in front thanks to Steven Walker and Ian Simpemba.

To their credit, Lewes really battled and after seeing a possible fourth Havant goal cancelled out for offside, they drew level in a carbon copy of the first match, when Lewes let slip a two-goal advantage.

Fred Foreman scored his first goal for the first team on the hour and the Rooks equalised when Chris Breach's close range shot in a goalmouth scramble deflected in off Simpemba.

With both teams looking towards extra time, Lewes goalkeeper Rikki Banks made a hash of a routine clearance which allowed former Lewes striker Paul Booth the opportunity to sneak round him and score what was probably the easiest goal of his career.

Havant now face Crawley at home in the third round on January 31st, with Lewes' away trip to Oxford United on Sunday February 1st now confirmed.
