Lewes supporters Lee Cobb and Jason Foulkes completed their 22 mile sponsored walk this afternoon to raise money for Lewes FC.

Leaving the Dripping Pan at 9.30am in bright sunshine, Jason, Lee and Lee's dog Zippy walked along the A27 route to Falmer, cutting through Stanmer Park and arriving at Withdean Stadium at lunch time.

Although she's used to long walks, Zippy was collected by Lee's wife, who also took the photo to prove that they had reached Withdean. Both supporters were in contact with members of the Lewes Fans Forum who posted updates during the afternoon, as well as encouraged other supporters to call during their walk and pledge money, which gave Lee and Jason a boost as the day wore on.

The LFC website editor can vouch for their efforts as he saw them at 3.30 on their return leg just past the Newmarket on the A27, with the lads finally arriving at the Dripping Pan an hour later.

After the walk, Lee said "I'm feeling tired and I've got four blisters which is a bit of a concern as I've got to lay a stone pathway in the morning. Jason seemed to complain less than me during the afternoon, but that may have been because of the Coke and Lucozade he kept drinking."

Around £700 has been raised so far, and this included nine pence that Lee and Jason collected from the pavement during the walk. They both intend to collect more money tomorrow night during the U18's FA Cup tie against Hull City and hope that supporters give generously. "If everyone gives a pound," said Lee, "we'll collect maybe half as much as we've raised this afternoon."

If you can't get to the game tomorrow, you can still donate money in the HSBC bank in Lewes High Street (sort code 40-25-06, acc no. 91401858) or send a cheque to Jason's Sponsored Walk, PO BOX 55, Uckfield TN22 1PJ.
