Lewes face a striker crisis as they take on Salisbury this evening.

Sam Gargan who was substituted at half time against Stevenage on Saturday following an ankle injury, faces a spell on the side lines and so manager Kevin Keehan will turn instead to Chamal Fenelon to lead the line.

Fenelon hasn’t started for Lewes since the defeat at Wrexham just over five weeks ago, but Keehan will be expecting the striker to put in the type of performance that has made him a firm favourite with the fans at the Dripping Pan.

Keehan said “We do need a goal threat. Defensively we have been quite good recently but if we can't threaten at the other end, then that is a problem.”

Lewes had been looking at former Derby striker Marvin Robinson who played in the Reserves defeat by Southampton last week, but Keehan has doubts about his fitness following a long spell out injured after a car accident.

“I am looking at options,” said Keehan, “but we can't sign anyone on loan. I could have got a couple just before the loan deadline but with the financial situation we could not do it.”

Andy Wilkinson and Louis Clark are added to tonight’s squad, although David Wheeler who had a great game for the Under 18 side as they went out the FA Youth Cup last night, misses out due to college commitments.
