Lewes fans are raising money for Lewes FC this weekend by doing a sponsored walk.

Rooks supporter Jason Foulkes initially had the idea last week to walk from the Dripping Pan to Withdean and back again in order to raise some much-needed funds.

He told the Lewes FC website, "I've been a supporter for 19 years and I'm very concerned about the future of the club so I just wanted to do my bit to help."

The walk starts from the Dripping Pan on Sunday at 9.30am, with the aim of being back in Lewes by late afternoon, a total distance of some 22 miles.

Jason will be joined by Lee Cobb, Eddy P and fellow Rooks Supporters Trust member Alec Foord who said, "I was really impressed with Jason's idea to raise money for Lewes, and I didn't want to let him do it on his own, so I've decided to join him on his quest."

Jason added "We're going to buy buckets at Asda to collect any money we might make along the way, but we'll buy them on the way back from Withdean so we'll be able to carry them. Hopefully they'll have some red and black ones for us!"

The lads are happy to be joined for some or all of the way by other supporters, and they intend to call in at a number of pubs on the walk including the Hikers Rest, The Swan at Falmer and all pubs in Lewes from the top of the town to the Dripping Pan to ask regulars to contribute to their total.

Sponsor forms will be available at the Dripping Pan for tomorrow's game against Stevenage, or you can download one here. Alternatively, you can donate money in the HSBC bank in Lewes High Street (sort code 40-25-06, acc no. 91401858) or send a cheque to Jason's Sponsored Walk, PO BOX 55, Uckfield TN22 1PJ
