Staines the attraction for Taylor
28/11/08
Leading scorer Scott Taylor has left Lewes and joined Staines Town.
Taylor began his career with the Ryman Premier club before moving on to the Football League with Bolton, Tranmere and Blackpool, joining Lewes at the start of this season.
The striker had a difficult start to life at the Dripping Pan but having scored in the last two Blue Square matches for Lewes, many supporters were surprised to learn of his departure.
However Taylor felt that with the financial issues surrounding Lewes, he had to make a decision on his future and manager Kevin Keehan reluctantly agreed to let him leave this week.
Keehan said, “He has been offered an electrical apprenticeship which he wanted to do when he finished football so we have agreed to let him go.”
With the loan window closing at the end of the month, Keehan is hoping to secure a new striker to replace Taylor.
