With just one game to go until the end of season and our Play-off hopes dashed by the defeat at Carshalton Athletic on Saturday, our thoughts have already started to plan for next season.
After a number of managerial appointments over the last few years, we have seen the fruits of consistency this season under Darren Freeman, Ross Standen and Tony Coade. The management team signed a one year deal last season and our plan was always that this was to be the first year in a longer plan for the growth on the pitch.
I’m very pleased that after afternoon’s pulsating game with Hastings United the management team have signed new 2 year contracts with Lewes Football Club.
Chairman Stuart Fuller was only too pleased to see the trio commit to the club.
“Darren, Ross and Codge have been excellent to work with and have taken us to the verge of the play-offs this season. Their commitment to the club has been evident throughout the season on and off the pitch. I genuinely believe we have the best management team in place to keep us moving forward and I am delighted that we have agreed a two year deal with them.”
Darren said on signing the deal. “I’m delighted to have signed the new extended deal which allows us to plan for the longer term. It’s a chance for Lewes to progress and I’m looking forward to us all moving in the right direction in the coming two years with the emphasis on promotion next season”
