The 7th Annual Lewes FC Beer Festival line up is complete, and we have gathered some of the best ales & ciders in the UK, in a Champions League of Ales & Ciders!
All of the selected beers & ciders this year have been Champions in their field at the biggest and most prestigious beer festivals in the country, which means that we have gathered together an incredible selection.
Dark Star, Oakham, Thornbridge, Caledonian, Kelham Island… The selection is littered with exceptional beer, and we compliment the ales with two superior ciders and one Perry, from the famous Gwynt Y Draig cider house in Wales.
You’ll be able to vote for your ‘Champion of Champions’ on the night, and once again we welcome our friends at Circa, who will be providing some excellent beer food to compliment the evening.
Last year’s festival attracted a record crowd
Johnny Marshall, owner of the Gardeners Arms in Lewes and curator of the festival, said last night; “It’s probably the best selection of ales that we have put together, with six Supreme Champions and the rest winners in their respective fields.” He added, “We have also managed to sneak in one of the best farmhouse ciders in the country, ‘Janet’s Jungle Juice’ is a champion cider from 2014, and needs a little respect!”
CEO Kevin Miller is delighted with the list. “We wanted to come up with something a little special this year, (and there may be a couple of additional alert to announce soon!) and to have so many quality ales in one festival is a bit of a coup. The Beer Festival has become an established part of the Lewes FC calendar, and with both first teams doing so well at the moment, interest in the club is growing, and we look forward to welcoming our beer connoisseurs.”
He added, “ We’ve kept both the ticket price and the beer price the same as last year — all the festival ales & ciders will be £3.30 a pint. Marc Bolger and his team at Circa will again be providing some superb pub-style food, and with the game against Faversham the following day, and a Ladies game against Charlton on the Sunday, we hope that it will be a great weekend for the club!”
Tickets are just a fiver, and you can purchase tickets at the club during the week, or e-mail [email protected] to reserve them and pick them up on the night.
