Rookettes Away to Hoops in FAWPL

Rookettes Away to Hoops in FAWPL

This Sunday Lewes FC Ladies visit QPR Ladies in the FAWPL South. Both sides will be looking to bounce back after closely contested 2-0 reverses last weekend, Lewes away to Tottenham Hotspur Ladies and Rangers at home to Coventry United LFC.

Lewes manager John Donoghue will wait for fitness news on several key players before naming his squad.
‘We came away from Spurs feeling we should have got something from the game. A disallowed goal and four one v ones shows how close we came. We need to maintain that level and take out chances.
I’ve challenged my players to go one better this Sunday.’
Despite QPR’s league position, the gaffer won’t take the opposition lightly.
‘In this league all teams are more than capable of playing well on their day. Our recent matches with QPR have been close. I expect them to come out fighting for their place in this division.’

The Super Hoops may be propping up the table but a win away to West Ham at the end of last year has given the side renewed hope. Manager Martino Chavannes knows all about motivating his players in this league and will expect a reaction. R’s number 10 Jennifer Critchley leads the goal scorers with 4 this term, whilst Callie Neat has been opposition player of the match on three occasions.

Last season Rangers took the points from the Pan with a 2-1 win, Elly Maggs scoring the 90th minute winner. Lewes returned the favour, notching a 3-1 win at Honeycroft, with Ellie Lock bagging a brace for the Rookettes.
