Midfielders Lee Carey and Henry Muggeridge will be plying their trade elsewhere next season, with both players leaving the club this summer.
Carey – who joined Lewes for the second time midway through last season – has signed for Crowborough Athletic, who play in the Southern Counties East Football League and are managed by none other than Sean Muggeridge, Henry’s dad. It’s not yet clear where Henry himself will be playing next season, but the pair leave the Pan with Darren Freeman’s best wishes.
“I’d like to thank the pair of them,” said Darren. “Both players will be missed on the pitch and in the changing rooms.”
Henry joined the club for the start of the 2014/15 season, but missed much of the action due to injury. He was almost ever-present last term, however, memorably sealing a goal at Brentwood Town with a kiss for his biggest fan…
Someone break the news gently to Ethel.
We wish Lee and Henry all the best at their new clubs.
